Science tutoring
Science tutoring in Brampton, from elementary through Grade 12
Newton's is a science tutor in Brampton that teaches concepts before formulas, junior kindergarten through Grade 12. Biology, chemistry, physics, and the JK to Grade 8 general science that builds the foundation. Small-group sessions (max 4-5 students) with 1-on-1 also available.
What Newton’s science tutoring covers
Science changes shape from grade to grade. In JK to Grade 8 it is broad and exploratory, covering forces, ecosystems, energy, and matter. By Grade 9 it splits into Ontario’s three streams: biology, chemistry, and physics, each with its own logic.
Coverage at Newton’s:
- JK to Grade 8 general science aligned to the Ontario curriculum (matter and energy, life systems, structures and properties, earth and space, weather and climate)
- Grade 9 and 10 science (SNC1D, SNC2D)
- Biology (SBI3U, SBI4U): cells, genetics, evolution, ecosystems, anatomy
- Chemistry (SCH3U, SCH4U): atomic structure, bonding, reactions, solutions
- Physics (SPH3U, SPH4U): forces, motion, energy, waves, electricity
- Lab report writing, data analysis, science fair coaching, and university-entrance review
If your child is in Bramalea Secondary, Heart Lake, Chinguacousy, or any other Brampton school, we align directly to the course they are in.
Biology tutoring
Biology demands precision: definitions, processes, and the ability to explain mechanisms in your own words. We tutor SNC1D and SNC2D bio units, then go deeper with SBI3U and SBI4U. Tutors help students build clean concept maps for cell biology, genetics, evolution, and human anatomy, then practice the kind of long-answer writing that high school exams reward.
Chemistry tutoring
Chemistry trips students up where the math meets the model. SCH3U and SCH4U cover stoichiometry, equilibrium, acids and bases, organic chemistry, and thermochemistry, and they all share one truth: if you cannot picture the reaction, the math will not save you. We teach the model first, the math second, and we drill the calculations until they feel routine.
Physics tutoring
Physics rewards students who can translate a real situation into the right equation. SPH3U covers kinematics, forces, energy, waves, and electricity. SPH4U adds dynamics, fields, and modern physics. We work problem by problem, building the habit of drawing the diagram, naming the variables, and choosing the right relation, before any number gets plugged in.
How we teach science
Most science sessions run as small groups, capped at 4 to 5 students, with each student following their own learning plan. 1-on-1 is also available, often used during summer or for intensive Grade 12 exam prep. Either way, sessions are in person at our Lormel Gate centre.
Science breaks fastest when it becomes memorization. So we teach mental models first. A student who can explain why a reaction happens, or what a force is doing to an object, will hold up under exam pressure. A student who only memorized the definition will not.
We use AI carefully here. ChatGPT and similar tools can sound confident while delivering wrong physics, which is dangerous if a student does not know how to check. Our tutors teach students to verify AI explanations against the textbook and the lab. AI generates calibrated practice questions tied to specific Ontario course expectations; tutors handle the conceptual work where it counts.

Frequently asked questions
What grades and streams do you cover?
Junior kindergarten through Grade 12, including all three Grade 11 and 12 streams: biology, chemistry, and physics.
Do you tutor Grade 12 biology, chemistry, and physics?
Yes. We cover SBI4U, SCH4U, and SPH4U, including final exam prep and university-entrance review.
Do you cover SNC1D and SNC2D?
Yes. Grade 9 and 10 academic science is a core part of our high school program.
Can you help with science fair projects?
Yes. Tutors coach students through hypothesis design, controlled variables, and presenting results clearly.
What does AI-aware science tutoring look like?
We teach students to verify AI explanations against the textbook and lab evidence. AI is a study partner, not a source of truth. Tutors handle the concepts, AI accelerates the practice.
How long until we see progress?
Most students show progress within four to six sessions. We share notes with you so you can see exactly what is shifting.
