About Newton's

A Brampton tutoring centre with deep roots and a forward look

Newton's Tutoring is an in-person JK-12 centre in Brampton, built by teachers who care about how kids learn today and how they will learn tomorrow.

Our story

Newton's began in 2012 in New York, started by teachers who believed kids deserved more attention than a classroom of 30 could ever offer. For more than a decade we refined a model built around small groups, personalized plans, and a deep belief that the right tutor changes a child's relationship with learning.

In 2024 we brought that model home to Brampton, opening our centre at 10 Lormel Gate. The New York location has since closed; Brampton is now our sole home. We chose Brampton because the demand for genuine, human-led tutoring is here, and because the Ontario curriculum deserves tutors who know it inside out.

Across our team, we carry more than 40 years of combined teaching experience. Some of us came up through schools and the Ontario curriculum. Others came from corporate roles and brought that real-world lens back into tutoring. The blend matters, because the kids we teach are heading into a world that asks for both.

We are an AI-first tutoring centre. Not because the tools are flashy, but because students who learn to use them well, alongside reading, writing, and math, will have an edge for the rest of their lives. Roots in teaching. Built for what's next.

Our approach

Personalized learning plans

Every family starts with a free one-hour check-in at our centre. We meet your child, listen, and look at where they are strong and where they want support. From that visit, we build a learning plan around their grade, goals, and pace. The plan is written down, shared with you, and revisited as your child grows.

AI as a tool, teachers at the centre

Our tutors are the constant. AI is one of the tools they use to make sessions sharper, feedback faster, and practice more targeted. Your child works with a real human who knows their name, their learning style, and what they were working on last week. The technology supports the teacher; it does not replace them.

JK-12, plus exam prep and university prep depth

We tutor across the full JK-12 range, from early reading and numeracy to senior calculus and university applications. We also run focused exam prep for EQAO, OSSLT, SAT, and ACT, and we support students through OUAC and admissions essays. One centre, one team, the full arc.

Our team

Newton's runs on five tutors. Each one holds a masters-level degree in their field, with a mix of classroom teaching experience and corporate background. Together they bring more than 40 years of combined experience to our students, all under one roof at our Lormel Gate centre in Brampton.

  • Five tutors on the team
  • Masters-level degrees across math, sciences, English, French, and computing
  • Mix of teaching and corporate experience
  • 40+ years of combined experience
  • One in-person centre in Brampton, no chains, no franchises

What AI-first tutoring means to us

Some parents hear "AI" and worry their child will end up staring at a chatbot instead of being taught. We hear that, and we agree it would be the wrong way to do this. Here is how we actually use AI at Newton's.

We do not replace teachers with AI

Sessions are led by tutors, in person, at our centre. Your child sits across from a real human who knows their work, their goals, and their week. AI tools sit in the background, helping us prepare practice, mark drafts faster, and personalize what we hand back. The relationship is the point.

We teach students to use AI well

Kids will use these tools whether or not adults are in the room. We would rather they learn to use them with judgement, alongside foundational skills like reading critically, writing clearly, and working through a math problem on paper. Our tutors model when to reach for AI, when to set it down, and how to check what it gives back.

Why this matters for kids growing up now

The students we teach will graduate into a world where AI is part of school, work, and daily life. Strong foundations still matter; so does knowing how to use the tools of their generation. We bridge those two, deliberately, in every plan we build.
