Who we are

Newton's Tutoring is a tutoring centre at 10 Lormel Gate Unit 3, Brampton, Ontario, Canada. This privacy policy describes how we handle information collected through this website (newtonstutoring.com). For information collected during in-person tutoring or assessment sessions, our enrollment agreement governs the relationship.

What we collect

When you submit a form on this site (assessment booking, contact, or newsletter signup), we collect the information you choose to share. That can include your name, email address, phone number, your child's grade, the subjects you are interested in, your preferred contact method, and any notes you add.

We also collect anonymous, privacy-friendly performance data through Vercel Analytics. This is page-view counts and Web Vitals like load speed. It does not use cookies, does not track individuals, and does not include personal information.

If you reach this site by clicking one of our Google Ads, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether that visit led to a phone call or an assessment booking. This measures the ad's effectiveness. It does not collect the details you type into a form, and it is described further under "Cookies" below.

How we use it

We use the information you share for one purpose: to follow up on your inquiry and arrange tutoring services. That means a member of our team may reply by email, call you, or send a calendar invite for a free assessment.

We do not use the personal information you submit for marketing automation, retargeting, or behavioural advertising. Our use of Google Ads conversion tracking is limited to measuring how well our ads bring families to the site; it is not used to build advertising profiles or to follow you around the web.

Where it is stored

Form submissions are stored in two places:

• A private Google Sheets workbook owned by Newton's Tutoring (for our internal tracking).
• An email inbox we control, sent through Resend (a transactional email provider).

The website itself is hosted on Vercel. All three providers are industry-standard services with appropriate security practices.

Cookies

This website uses Google Ads conversion tracking to measure phone calls and assessment bookings that follow a Google Ad click. This feature sets cookies through Google (for example, a cookie that records that an ad click happened, so a later call or booking can be counted). These are the only cookies this site sets, and they are used for measurement, not to serve you ads or to track you across other websites.

Our website analytics tool, Vercel Analytics, remains cookieless and does not track individuals. Aside from the Google Ads cookies described above, any other client-side storage is technical (for example, your browser caching static assets to load the site faster on a return visit).

You can control or clear these cookies through your browser settings, or opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your information. The one exception to keeping data in-house is Google Ads conversion tracking: when a call or booking follows an ad click, anonymous ad-interaction data is shared with Google to count that conversion. This does not include the personal details you enter into a form. We may also share your information when required by Canadian law (for example, in response to a lawful subpoena), and we will tell you when we do unless legally prevented from doing so.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Request a copy of the information we hold about you.
• Request that we correct inaccurate information.
• Request that we delete your information.
• Withdraw consent for future communications at any time.

Children's privacy

We collect minimal information about children, only what is necessary to provide tutoring services (typically grade and subject). Children do not interact with our website forms directly; a parent or guardian submits the form on their behalf. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website.

Changes to this policy

If our privacy practices change in a meaningful way, we will update this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will also be communicated to current families directly.
